Do you have a little train lover in your family?
Day Out With Thomas events happen all around the U.S., and it is worth taking a road trip to experience it!
We've been to Day Out With Thomas at Roaring Camp Railroads in Felton, right near Santa Cruz,
and at the Orange Empire Railway Museum in Perris, near Riverside several times and it has been well-worth the cost each time.
The highlight of this event is seeing the "real" Thomas, (and sometimes Percy,) and taking a train ride pulled by the #1 Blue Engine.
Thomas and Percy even talk and have animated faces - so life-like!
They also have many other activities at Day Out With Thomas, including LOTS of train tables to play on,
ride-on toy trains,
and our boys' favorite every time - the temporary tattoos!
The boys love those Thomas tattoos!
They also usually have bounce houses, storytelling and videos, not to mention all of the regular exhibits at both of these train venues.
And of course, you get great pictures with Thomas, Percy and Sir Topham Hatt, and lots of exclusive merchandise!
In October, Roaring Camp Railroads does a twist on Day Out With Thomas called Thomas and Percy's Halloween Party.
It's just about the same event, but with lots of Halloween fun added.
This is the entrance to Roaring Camp:It's such a beautiful setting.
After getting pictures with the stars,
you enjoy the fun and peaceful ride through the beautiful mountain area, with the train all decked out for Halloween.
Then, the kids enjoy all of the other activities, and a few Halloween bonuses:
bean bag toss,
choosing a small pumpkin from the pumpkin patch,
and the beloved tattoos!
We highly recommend both of these events!
